Terms of use
Dragonlock is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). The terms below add a few things specific to Dragonlock. If they ever conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA wins.
Dragonlock is made by Sebastian Koning, an independent developer in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). Our privacy policy explains what happens to your family's information.
1. Who can use Dragonlock
Dragonlock is for parents and legal guardians who are adults where they live. You set it up and manage it on your own iPhone, for a child in your Apple Family Sharing group. You agree to use it only for children you're responsible for, and only through Family Sharing as Apple's Screen Time requires. Don't use Dragonlock to control another adult's device.
A child uses Dragonlock on their own phone under your supervision. You're responsible for how Dragonlock is set up for them.
2. What you need
Your iPhone and your child's iPhone on iOS 26 or later, iCloud turned on for both, and a child Apple Account for your child in your Family Sharing. Without these, the lock and the link between the phones won't work. The field guide explains how to set them up.
3. The subscription
- Dragonlock needs a subscription after setup. The plans, prices and lengths are shown in the app before you buy. One subscription covers your family.
- Apple bills it to your Apple Account. It renews automatically at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel any time in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from Dragonlock's settings. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Apple handles refunds, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- If the subscription ends, Dragonlock opens every lock on your child's phone. It never leaves a child locked out because a payment didn't go through.
4. What Dragonlock can and can't do
- Dragonlock uses Apple's Screen Time to lock the apps you choose until the day's quests are done. It's a help for your family's routine, not a guarantee. Screen Time has limits, devices fail, and children are inventive.
- Dragonlock is not a safety or monitoring service. Don't rely on it to keep a child safe, to reach a child, or in an emergency.
- The AI photo check can be wrong in either direction. You can see every photo and change any answer, or check every photo yourself.
- The link between phones works through iCloud. If a phone is offline or iCloud is unavailable, changes wait until it's back.
5. Your family's content
The quests you write and the photos your child takes are yours. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run Dragonlock for you (for example, to send a photo to the photo checker when photo checks are on). We don't claim ownership of them and we don't use them for anything else.
Use the camera only for quest photos. Don't use Dragonlock to take or send anything unlawful or harmful.
6. Acceptable use
Don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or misuse Dragonlock or its photo checker, or use the checker for anything other than Dragonlock. We may block requests that look like abuse.
7. Changes and ending
We may update Dragonlock and these terms. We'll post changes here with a new version and date, and tell you in the app if a change matters. You can stop using Dragonlock at any time: delete your family's data in the app, delete the app, and cancel the subscription with Apple.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Dragonlock is provided as is, and our liability is limited as set out in the Standard EULA. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law says can't be limited.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
